Background

David Bowie (1947-2016) was a British singer, songwriter, and actor widely regarded as one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century. He died on January 10, 2016, at age 69, two days after releasing his final album Blackstar. Bowie's name appears in Epstein's personal address book.

His name also appears in the DOJ's release of over 3 million Epstein-related files published in late 2025 and January 2026. According to reporting on the music industry's presence in the files, Bowie's appearances are attributable to press releases, promotional biographies, and media content such as YouTube links that passed through Epstein-related email archives. He is not associated with any personal meeting, flight, or direct contact with Epstein.

No allegations of wrongdoing in connection with Epstein were ever made against him. Bowie died nearly three years before Epstein's 2019 arrest.
