A July 2010 email has Levine writing to Epstein that he was "happy" everything came to "a positive ending" after Epstein's conviction, calling him "a great guy" and signing it "Your friend, Philip." In a July 2025 DOJ interview, Ghislaine Maxwell described Levine as her "very good friend" and said she introduced Bill Clinton to Levine, who then facilitated their connection.
Levine appeared 13 times in Epstein's black book. Ocala News reviewed 435 emails between Levine, Epstein, and Maxwell spanning nearly two decades. Levine denied having a close personal friendship when his name first appeared in the black book in 2019.
No allegations of wrongdoing tied to Epstein's crimes have been made against Levine.
